Shorty's Hurricane Season: A Symphony of Color and Rhythm

Step into a world of rhythmic color and vibrant energy with "Shorty's Hurricane Season," an artwork birthed from a fusion of music, art, and a splash of improvisation. Inspired by Trombone Shorty's neoplastic solo at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2012, where through circular breathing, two notes sustained for several minutes, this piece is a visual representation of that magical musical moment.

Drawing from the pixels of Mondrian's last artwork, "Victory Boogie Woogie," Daniel Buchner has created a masterpiece that leaves sampled pixels intact while inflating several hundred others. This technique unveils a vivid transition between neoplastic lawful primary colors and 'no color,' creating a living rhythm and movement that dances across the canvas or paper.
